Gina Carano shared a post to Instagram that’s been circulating in conservative circles, and which compares being a Trump-supporting Republican to being a Jew during the Holocaust.

“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children…Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews,” it reads. “How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”

It’s an absolutely wild take — comparing the party that contains and sometimes caters to modern-day Nazis to a people that were slaughtered simply for who they were.
The actress immediately faced backlash for her views.

By the end of the day, Lucasfilm announced that Carano wasn’t employed by the company anymore “and there are no plans for her to be in the future,” phrasing it in such a way that left people wondering if she had already been fired for some of her earlier controversial remarks.

Over the last several months, Carano has mocked mask-wearing, mocked the use of correct pronouns for transgender and non-binary people, and promoted Trump’s baseless voter fraud conspiracy theories.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, an anonymous source claimed Lucasfilm has “been looking for a reason to fire her for two months, and today was the final straw.”
Prior to all the controversy she stirred up, there were rumors of her Mandalorian character getting her own show.
