It’s hard out there for people who depend on tips for their income. A Domino’s employee expressed his frustration via TikTok, going viral in the process.

TikTok user @leaks._.world, who goes by the name Malik, posted his TikTok video on Sunday. It begins with him screaming, “No!” in an anguished voice, and then exclaiming, in response to the person filming the video telling him to “calm down,” “I don’t want to work here anymore!”

His anguish was apparently over not receiving a tip. “Five minutes, five minutes out there in the rain—and no tip?” asked Malik. “No tip?”

He then lunges out at a stack of pizza boxes, which clatter to the ground.

The video, which garnered 1.7 million views as of Wednesday afternoon, has received supportive comments from those who understand how integral tipping is to a delivery driver’s income.

“Yall don’t understand that even 2-3$ helps tremendously,” one user wrote in the comments. “It can make somebody’s entire day.”

Malik responded, noting, “If she would’ve gave me a dollar or even apologized for the rain that I’m soaked in I woulda been fine.”

One person cracked, “If you can’t afford to tip, you can’t afford the luxury of delivery.”

Some, however, chimed in to say that not getting tipped is the risk you take in working a tip-based job, while others latched on to debate the merits of a tip-based employment system.

LADBible‘s coverage including the quote, “Honestly, tho, tipping is a broken system. No one should rely on tips; companies, start paying ur workers brah.”

That article including another budding Marxist, who said, “Corporations use the tipping system to underpay their workers. Do away with tipping and pay people enough to live.”

The Daily Dot remarked that Malik said, “I appreciate your support” to someone who was less than charitable in his mentions.

While Malik did get soaked in a rainstorm, he did get to at least go viral for it.
