If you’ve ever lamented the difficulty of riding a bicycle over the ice, one guy has come up with a creative solution—that it may be best not to try at home, actually.

The Q has all sorts of fascinating science-centric videos, offering up ideas on how to create unique and complex inventions involving everyday items.

Most recently, the channel decided to take apart a bicycle and replace its wheels with giant circular saw blades so that it could hold its own on the slippery surface of the ice.
First, the bike was dismantled.
Parts were examined.

The blades were adjusted and fastened together with some of the old parts…
…so that they would fit properly on the bike as if they were traditional wheels.
The first attempt at riding across the ice was immediately a bust.

So the blades got a little bit of reinforcement.
And everything came together.

The entire experiment and build is fascinating to watch, and proof that there’s a solution for just about everything—just don’t go skidding across the road while riding on this bike. Those are not wheels you want to get trapped underneath.
