People Think The Voice Actor For Jimmy Pesto Of “Bob’s Burgers” Is An FBI-Wanted Capitol Rioter

Though it has yet to be confirmed, Twitter users are widely speculating that the man in a photo being circulated by the FBI is the voice actor for the character Jimmy Pesto in the popular animated sitcom “Bob’s Burgers.”

The man in the photo is wanted for taking part in the assault on the Capitol on January 6, and the resemblance between him and the voice actor is rather striking.

The actor, Jay Johnston, has also been on a podcast hosted by Proud Boys co-founder Gavin McInnes, so it’s not a stretch to think he might have been at the pro-Trump insurrection.

Johnston himself has not responded to the allegations. However, Snopes managed to catch a screenshot of a tweet by Tim Heidecker, who worked with Johnston on HBO’s “With Bob and David,” that says it’s been “confirmed through reliable sources” that the actor is indeed the man in the FBI photo.

Heidecker later deleted the tweet, stating that he doesn’t want it to “be used as some kind of official source of information.”

Snopes also noted that actors Spencer Crittenden and Cassandra Church have tweeted in support of the theory that Johnston is the man in the FBI photo, though two of the tweets have been deleted. One by Church saying that Johnston outright admitted to attending the insurrection, however, is still up.

As the world awaits confirmation on whether Johnston was or was not at the riot in an ugly camouflage face mask, many are pointing out that the character Jimmy Pesto definitely would have been a Trump supporter.

The recurring character, who acts as a rival and antagonist to main character Bob Belcher, is constantly bragging about his success and pretends to be Italian to bring more business to his restaurant.

Others are having trouble coping with the surreal crash of going from thinking the “Jimmy Pesto stormed the Capitol” thing was a joke to realizing it might be true.
