@dcmoemoe42 recorded the video in Washington, D.C., during her commute. At the start, the rude passenger can be seen relaxing in her seat, putting on chapstick with no mask in sight.

“Ma’am, do you have a mask you can put on?” @dcmoemoe42 asks politely.
The woman doesn’t respond. Instead, she simply puts her hand up between her face and the camera and attempts to ignore the situation.
“You don’t have a mask on a public bus?” the TikToker asks. “Do you think your privilege is gonna help you today? This is for the health and safety of everybody on the bus.”
As the anti-masker continues to ignore her, @dcmoemoe42 doesn’t stop filming and doesn’t stop asking her to put on a mask.
“Your privilege does not work for you on the metro bus. Maybe in your Lexus. But not on the metro bus, ma’am,” she says. “You should have a mask on.”

Public shaming of anti-maskers has been a point of controversy ever since the pandemic began, but more and more people are losing patience with folks denying science and refusing to play their part in society as their choices clearly have an impact on the rest of us.
“She deserves to be shamed,” one TikTok commenter wrote on the video. “We are one year into this pandemic.”
“These people deserve the criticism they get from their peers at this point,” another added.

Some people expressed frustration that the woman was allowed on the bus to begin with, while others were sympathetic to bus drivers and others put in the position of having to enforce mask mandates when there are so many viral videos of anti-maskers losing their minds over being asked to be decent human beings.
Still others pointed out the most obvious bit about this whole thing:
“If she was wearing a mask she wouldn’t need to hide her face.”
A follow up video from @dcmoemoe42 claimed that after the part she uploaded to TikTok, the woman lunged at her and tried to take her phone away to get her to stop recording. She’s teased the possibility of uploading that footage in response to some of the commenters who suggested she simply mind her own business.
