Two teens just trying to enjoy a meal at a fast-food restaurant were interrupted by a Christian “Karen” who said “God told me to come over and talk to you guys,” captured in what’s become a viral TikTok video.

The original video was posted Wednesday by TikTok user @kaleesh; his original video has captured more than a half-million views, and a captioned version of the same exchange—provided at the request of fans—has garnered an astonishing 16 million views.

In the video, the Karen approaches the table and immediately cuts to the chase, asking Kaiden and his companion Jordan, “You go to church anywhere?”
When they respond in the negative, she wonders about their prospects for the afterlife, asking, “Do you guys know how to get to Heaven?”
(That prompted one respondent to chime in on the comments with, “‘Do you know how to get to heaven’ yes actually, walk straight out those doors, take a left, and walk directly into traffic, that should do the trick.”)
She then asks, “I know, I know. I just see you guys … You guys aren’t, like, girlfriends, are you?” managing to misgender and chide in the same fell swoop.

Jordan points out they’re cousins, but then also points out that it wouldn’t be any of her business if they were dating.
She acknowledges that in her own fashion, noting, “You’re right, you’re right. But I just wanna let you guys know, because they don’t teach you young kids anything about God anymore, that it’s just not the right way to live.”
Jordan makes the fair point, “You came over here out of like, nowhere.”
That’s when the woman said, “God told me to come over and talk to you guys.”

Another commenter noted that the Karen and people like her are “always blaming it on God instead of just admitting they were trying to push their beliefs because they wanted to.”
While the saying goes, “God works in mysterious ways,” it really did seem this Karen thought that God would work through her at a fast-food restaurant, but based on appearances, the only thing Karen achieved through her Lord and Savior was going viral in the way people typically try to avoid going viral.
