“Cat 3” Trends On Twitter After Chaotic Kitten Crashes Through Cups

There’s one trend that the internet will never get tired of, and that’s pet videos. Turn that camera on your dog or cat and you’ll have a guaranteed audience — especially if you’re furry friend is actually doing something ridiculous and/or adorable.

A trend that’s been going around TikTok for awhile now is to set up some sort of super dense obstacle course for cats, and occasionally dogs, to see how they handle it. The videos tend to get a little repetitive, but when they’re good, they’re good.

One recent entry into the challenge from @danil_chernyy really encompasses the whole spectrum of cat reactions.

Danil has a variety of plastic cups set up at the bottom of his stairs. The collection is dense enough that the cats will have to make a very deliberate decision in terms of how they’re planning to cross the unexpected obstacles.

The first cat quickly identifies the shortest distance between the stairs and the clear portion of the hallway and carefully picks his way through the widest opening between cups.

The second cat follows the same path halfway but gets a little frustrated and tries to jump over the remaining cups, managing to knock over two of them before ultimately reaching his goal.

Cat 3 is a different story.

The ginger cat really just says “f—k it” and makes a giant leap right from the stairwell into the middle of the cups — slamming into the far wall before scrambling through a collapsing mass of plastic cups as he has to cross the extra distance to finally get free of this maze.

The whole thing has quickly turned into a meme, and rightly so.

Fortunately for all cat lovers, Cat 3 is heavily featured on his human’s TikTok, where he apparently likes to play fetch like the chaotic and cuddly hot mess he clearly is.
