Twitter Lists Cartoon Characters Who Could Be “Canceled” For Their Various Antics

A new Twitter game has emerged out of the “cancel culture” hysteria pushed by conservatives who hate experiencing negative consequences in the form of #CancelACartoonCharacter. The latest from the outrage machine has targeted decades-old criticism of the Looney Tunes character Pepe Le Pew, the amorous skunk who was never taught the importance of getting consent.

Somehow, they manage to direct all the blame for the decision of private companies on Joe Biden.

Word that Pepe was cut from the reboot of Space Jam sent conservative pundits into another round of lamentation in spite of the fact that the scene actually featured LeBron James trying to teach the cartoon skunk about the whole “no means no” thing. Not long after, people started naming cartoon characters who could be “canceled” for various offenses that are generally less serious than sexual assault.

The vast majority of these entries appear to be tongue-in-cheek, listing obvious villains or extremely minor offenses, though some of them might make you stop and think about subtle messages we’re sending our children. Mostly, though, they’re just really funny.
