Reddit is at it again with the religion questions, this time asking people to list some “in any religion that just don’t make any sense.” People chimed in by the thousands, which isn’t surprising considering the vast number of weird moments and contradictions to be found in many religious texts.

As you might expect, most of the entries are about Christianity and some of its stranger offshoots like Mormonism and Jehovah’s Witnesses. Being the religion that arguably holds the most power in today’s world, it’s the best target for a little humbling every now and then. This, of course, overlaps quite a bit with Judaism and Islam, and there were also some entries on Hinduism and just a sprinkling of Germanic paganism.

One of the more interesting things we learned from reading the comments is that it seems many of the more specific questions about Christianity can be answered by the Quran.
The plot holes listed range from broad and existential, such as why would a benevolent god let bad things happen, to specific questions about stories from the Bible and Quran. As long as you’re not too serious, the results are enjoyable for everyone from hardcore atheists to religious scholars.
