A business partner of Elon Musk casually shared that he believes their company could create its own Jurassic Park last week, and the entire internet collectively screamed “NO.”

Neuralink has made headlines for its implantable brain-machine interfaces, most recently claiming that its device allowed for a monkey to play Pong using only its brain.

Apparently co-founder Max Hodak believes technology created by the company could also be used to create their own version of the infamous island filled with dinosaurs that eventually cause chaos and destruction for the surrounding humans.
“We could probably build Jurassic Park if we wanted to,” he tweeted on Saturday. “Wouldn’t be genetically authentic dinosaurs but [shrugging emoji]. Why don’t we more intentionally try to generate novel diversity?”
Of course, generating “novel diversity” does not have to mean purposely recreating monstrous creatures that could kill us all, and the vast majority of people were not on board with Hodak’s idea.

There are also environmental challenges to taking on such a monumental task.

Also…maybe that money would simply be better spent doing actual good for humanity instead of doing something that could wipe us out just for fun.
There are reasons people say we shouldn’t have billionaires and preventing them from getting bored and building Jurassic Park is definitely very high on that list.
