The co-founder of Centner Academy, a Miami-based private school, recently sent a letter to her staff informing them that they will have to isolate themselves from students, including stepping down from teaching roles, if they decide to get the COVID vaccine.

According to The New York Times, the letter cited unfounded rumors popular among anti-vaxxers that people have been affected just by being near those who have received the vaccine, claiming that “reports have surfaced recently of non-vaccinated people being negatively impacted by interacting with people who have been vaccinated.”

“Even among our own population, we have at least three women with menstrual cycles impacted after having spent time with a vaccinated person,” wrote Leila Centner.

The academy is therefore asking that non-vaccinated staff wait until the end of the school year to receive what they call “the experimental COVID-19 injection” or, if they have received it already or still want to do so, to report this and be removed from their jobs. Centner further claims that “tens of thousands of women all over the world” have reported reproductive system issues after being in close proximity to vaccinated persons.

Sources for this number were not stated in the letter.

Rumors about this somewhat magical supposed side effect of the vaccine began after people started to report that they had unusually heavy or more frequent periods after getting vaccinated against COVID. While these reports may be true, it remains unclear without testing whether the vaccine is the true cause of this annoying but non-dangerous phenomenon. Period irregularity can also be caused by stress and many other factors, including aging.

However, claims of heavy periods and other reproductive issues, including even miscarriage, began popping up from people claiming that they have not been vaccinated but had been in close contact with people who were.

Anti-vaxxer Dr. Naomi Wolf (not a medical doctor) picked this rumor up and used an article suggesting that vaccines theoretically could be made to spread from person to person via respiration to claim that this might already be happening with the COVID-19 vaccine.

Wolf’s tweet has since been labeled by twitter as “misleading.”

Staff dismissed from the Centner Academy will be allowed back after the summer only if “clinical trials” into the COVID vaccine are completed (presumably to Leila’s satisfaction) and then only if “a position is still available at that time.”

Employees have been threatened with legal action if they lie on the confidential form they will get asking them to volunteer personal medical information about the vaccine status. This form reportedly requires each individual to “acknowledge the School will take legal measures needed to protect the students if it is determined that I have not answered these questions accurately.”

Scrutiny resulting from the spreading of this letter has revealed that Leila Centner has been a serious anti-vaxxer for some time now and has frequently invited prominent “vaccine skeptics” to speak at the academy such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Lawrence Palevsky. A large collection of anti-vaxxer posts, as well as anti-masker and COVID-denial propaganda, were soon discovered on her social media pages.

Leila and her husband appear to be attempting to build a private “educational empire” in Florida and beyond, buying up nearby properties and buildings for many millions, including some that the couple claim will be for “teacher housing.”

It may surprise nobody to learn that the Centners were big donors to the Trump campaign.
