One TikToker’s adorable yet slightly disconcerting texts from her 91-year-old grandfather have helped her go viral.

@meganelizabeth1016 shared a series of texts from her grandfather — all of which start out by reminding her who he is, of course — in which he offers unwanted and unhelpful advice, but clearly with the best of intentions.
The first text kindly reminded her of the importance of finding a “life partner.”

The next one included a harsh reminder about mortality.
Millennials? Depressed? Can’t imagine why.
Awkwardly enough, the final shared text was a plea for Megan to stay away from TikTok.
Whoops! It’s obvious that Megan’s grandpa is looking out for her, even if he’s often jarringly blunt about doing so.
“It’s like everything he said came off wrong but I know it’s from the heart,” one TikTok user commented. “How is this so mean yet so sweet at the same time,” another questioned.
Many viewers were impressed that he adapted and learned how to use an iPhone so he could stay in touch. “Yall know it probably took him 20 mins to type each one,” @guacamolly.craig pointed out.
By request, Megan also shared a couple of videos of her grandfather.
“Him and my grandma have always been my biggest supporters,” she wrote. “They taught me to always believe in myself and to live my life to the fullest.”
