Anti-vaxxers have added Heineken to the list of companies they’re allegedly boycotting forever because they expressed support for people getting vaccinated against COVID-19. The latest ad for the well-known beer brand appears to be a common one for alcohol, showing a scene of a bumping club on the beach. However, before long, viewers will notice something’s a little different about this club.

“The night is young,” the ad begins, but the club patrons are not.

Rather than being filled to the brim with young, conventionally attractive people as is typical for a beer ad, these party people are all of the older variety, and they are enjoying themselves just like the young folks—dancing, running into the ocean, probably doing it in the bathroom stall, and so on.
“Cheers to the vaccinated. Time to join them” reads the tagline, which is repeated in Heineken’s tweet. The implication is that if all of us get the COVID-19 vaccine, we might just make it to old age, which is something a lot of people tend to want. Then there are the anti-vaxxers.
Along with general COVID-deniers, anti-vaxxers flooded to the Heineken tweet to express their displeasure, promise never to buy their beer again, and express shock that a multinational company originating in The Netherlands would want there to be enough healthy and alive people around to consume their product. In February, the company reported a loss of $247.6 million from 2020, blaming it largely on the pandemic as bars across the world shut down to slow the spread of the virus. They’re planning to cut 8,000 jobs to help make up for this loss.
Commenters have accused them of taking “Big Pharma” money as they fail to conceive that they hold the minority opinion in this matter.

The influx of anti-vaxxers to this comment section was so predictable that multiple pro-vaxx commenters expressed that they came specifically to see all angry messages left by people vowing to switch beer brands. They were not disappointed.
