Flat Earthers Or Trolls? This TikTok Has People Stumped

A TikTok interview with random people on the street claiming to be flat earthers is so bizarre and so good that the internet can’t figure out if they were serious or not.

The video originated from @brofessorMegan, a “self-proclaimed sh*tposter” who has previously shared TikToks joking about being a part of the “trapezoid earth society” as part of an attempt to “out-crazy” the absurdity of flat earthers.

In this vid, Megan found two seemingly random folks on the street and asked them what they think of the flat earth theory—the claim that the earth isn’t round, but is simply flat and comes to an end if one goes far enough.

“I mean, it’s flat,” the guy says.

That’s when his friend chimes in, appearing totally serious.

“So I’m from Maine, I’m a lobster fisherman, right?” she says. “So my uncle one time, he got in his boat and he went way f—king past the three-mile line, all the way out towards Canada. And I swear to f—king God, we never saw that motherf—ker again.”

“I believe, personally, that he sailed off the edge of the Earth,” she adds.

While some lamented the lack of education that has resulted in people flying back to a time where society actually believed the earth was flat—and people absolutely do believe this!—others were convinced the girl being interviewed was an excellent troll and improviser.

“That girl is the funniest person the way she just came up with all that on the spot,” wrote @mijo489.

“As someone from Maine, yes people are actually like this,” another TikTok user said, taking the story at face value. “Intelligence is few and far between here.”

Even Megan admitted in multiple comments that she had no idea if the two were serious or just messing with her, but says they never broke either way.

“I just want to find her on the internet and confirm if this was them trolling us or not,” she said. “Bc we could not tell.”

In an extended version of the interview, Megan offers up her opposing view of a trapezoid earth, suggesting the girl’s uncle fell off the mountain ranges that make up the edges of the earth in this troll theory.

And yet again, the girl freaking rolls with it.

“Well, there’s always the Mariana trench,” she agrees, “and you know that it splits the earth clean in half, right? So if you fall off the edge of the Earth, you just go straight in.”
