The people of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, are serving as an inspiration to the entire country after they chased a white supremacy group out of the city.

Around 200 members of Patriot Front masked up to hide their identities and marched outside Philadelphia City Hall on Saturday night. Forever stuck on Donald Trump’s false claim that the election was stolen from him, they chanted as much throughout the night, while flying American flags and banners saying “Reclaim America.”

According to police, the group came in from out of town—Patriot Front is based out of Texas and has traveled to other cities to try to spread their hate in the past.

But Philly locals weren’t having it. As the hate group marched through the city, there were reports of people who encountered them doing everything from yelling to banging on trucks to other “physical encounters.”

“They started engaging with citizens of Philadelphia, who were none too happy about what they were saying,” police officer Michael Crum told WPVI-TV. “These males felt threatened, and, at one point, somebody in their crowd threw a type of smoke bomb to cover their retreat, and they literally ran away from the people of Philadelphia.

As word of the impromptu mob—and the city’s reaction—spread online, people applauded the citizens of Philadelphia for standing up and swatting the white supremacists back down.

The idea that this group went to the trouble of organizing and coming up to Pennsylvania from Texas but still got chased out of town by random bystanders didn’t escape people, either.

May citizens of every city react similarly to racist hate groups marching through its streets.
