Brian Williams has had enough of Matt Gaetz, and he isn’t the only one.

The journalist spoke briefly about General Mark Milley’s remarks earlier this week, in which the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff defended the military against attacks from Republicans.
“Republicans, as you know, have decided we’re in a crisis of some sort where our military is both soft and ‘woke’ and our kids are being taught ‘dangerous’ things like ‘white rage’ and ‘critical race theory,’” Williams said.

Milley told the politicians at the hearing that he believes it’s important for service members to “be open-minded and be widely read,” particularly when starting out at West Point, which is a literal school.
“I want to understand white rage,” he said. “What is wrong with understanding — having some situational understanding about the country for which we are here to defend?”
Gaetz was seen shaking his head in disgust as Milley defended the study of various theories, hypothetically including critical race theory, which Republicans are so vehemently against.
Williams had no patience for Gaetz’s disrespectful attitude, blasting the disgraced Florida representative after his show played the clip of Milley speaking.
“Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, who did not serve in the military, but did smirk while General Milley was testifying, also went on to troll the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs on Twitter, saying ‘With Generals like this it’s no wonder we’ve fought considerably more wars than we’ve won,’” Williams said.
He then threw a hit of his own—“To be fair, Gaetz—the same Matt Gaetz who faces potential sex trafficking charges, which he denies — did also tweet today to Free Britney Spears, which kind of makes him a freedom fighter.”

Gaetz, of course, has only doubled down on his opinions, as Republicans continue speaking out against the military and trying to sweep racism under the rug. Now if only more TV news programs would report on these attacks and misinformation with the same finesse as Williams’.
