COVID-denier, Trump fan, and actor Kevin Sorbo for some reason announced to the world that he acted like a total Karen in a Starbucks the other day, claiming that he wasn’t “proud” of it but tweeting about it anyway. Apparently, he was asked to put on a mask upon entering the coffee shop, yelled that this was “BS” and walked out, likely to the relief of every employee working there at the time.

Why Sorbo was so surprised about being asked to mask up after a year and a half of pandemic is unclear. It’s possible that the area he was in had lifted mask mandates for a time, but thanks to new variants and surging case numbers among the unvaccinated, some localities have reinstated these mandates to once again attempt to slow the spread. And Sorbo is really mad about it.

“i’m not proud of this but i just made a scene in public for the first time in my life,” he wrote. “I walked into Starbucks and they asked me to put a mask on. I yelled this is BS. I turned around and walked out. I know what you’re thinking… My first mistake was walking into a Starbucks!”
It seems a little bit doubtful that this is the first time Sorbo has made a scene in his entire life, but okay.
It’s also unclear who this was meant to impress, as conservatives tend to have a negative view of Starbucks (which he seems to acknowledge at the end of the tweet), often associating it with liberals, who are largely approving of mask mandates. Pretty much everyone is now left to wonder why he bothered telling the world about this embarrassing moment when it could have remained between him and a couple of tired baristas.
If you weren’t already aware, Sorbo has been annoying about the pandemic since the beginning, sporting a pinned tweet telling people to raise their hands “if you’re more concerned about losing your Constitutional rights than you are about Covid.” The tweet immediately after the cringe Starbucks tantrum brag is promoting the so-called “Freedom Phone,” which was resoundingly trashed for being a $500 version of a budget phone made in China.
In spite of being consistently irritating, this particular tweet caught a lot of attention, netting him more than the usual amount of mockery.
