In the video, which has more than 1 million views, Aunt Karen says that she was messaged by someone named Josh Lester. According to articles from the past year, Lester is the the co-owner and CEO of Exclusive Property Masters, a sales company based in Calgary. In the messages he sent, Lester tells Aunt Karen to “go out and get a job instead of cancelling [sic] white men off the earth.”
Aunt Karen challenged Lester with the fact that racism exists in the world, Lester responded that it “slightly exists” but “black people are the most racist people on this planet.” Lester also told her to “go out and make a million f*cking dollars so you can actually do something good with this world.” Because everyone knows that making a million dollars automatically makes you an ethical human!
In a conversation with The Daily Dot, Aunt Karen said, “His comments primarily pertained to my content and how I seemed to cancel white people. He never brought up any other TikTok creator.”
“I get a lot of DMs,” Aunt Karen added. “Most people are seeking to help expose racism and bring it to the light. Very few are like Josh. But his stood out the most, as he is a white male who couldn’t stand my work for no other reason than racism.”
According to a profile of Lester and his company, Lester became co-owner in 2020 and age 19. The company was previously owned by his older brother. It is not known exactly what the company does. Lester’s social media accounts have since disappeared since the TikTok went viral.
