Lorincz’s TikTok inspired folks to troll the store’s mobile app reviews. The store, Ava Lana Boutique, has been getting slammed online.

Lorincz told BuzzFeed News that she posted the TikTok to “encourage women to stand up for themselves.” However, she’s not interested in any further action.

The Ava Lane Boutique’s vice president of operations, Chuck DeGrendel, admitted to sending the email.

According to the Detroit News, DeGrendel appeared in a Facebook Live stream to respond to the TikTok.

He said that the email was not intended for Lorincz but was supposed to be sent to his wife. He also said he “deserve [s] that blowback.”

“I don’t know why I said that … it was very unprofessional and really not in line with my core values,” he added.

In the email, DeGrendel describes Lorincz as “fresh out of college (Hope college) and not that cute.” He then asks the person he intended the message for, “Are you sure you want me to interview her?”

Lorincz told BuzzFeed News her “intent was simply to call out bad behavior and to encourage women to stand up for themselves. I don’t want to prolong the narrative.”
