For as long as there have been sleeping women, there have been creepy men who go to great lengths to watch those women sleep. They peer through windows at night, write “love” songs about it and even have a whole fairytale about a woman who just sleeps the entire time. (OK, it’s much worse than that, but you can go down that rabbit hole on your own time.)

Recently, another dumbfounding instance of creepy-man-obsessed-with-sleeping-woman happened.

Adriana Garcia had that gut feeling of being watched in her Texas home, so she trusted her gut and installed night-vision cameras in her backyard.
The feeling began when her son discovered a footprint outside her bedroom window.
“I haven’t been sleeping for over a month, just waiting, waiting,” Garcia told KHOU 11.
Shortly after installing the night-vision camera, Garcia’s horrific suspicions were confirmed.
In one of the videos, the camera catches the man in the lower right-hand corner, sneaking into the yard.
Hunched down, he approaches the window.
And then full-on peers in.
The camera also caught something shocking.
“I have clear footage where he looks in any way he can and touches himself while looking in through little gaps of both my bedroom windows,” Garcia said.

Thanks to the camera, Garcia was able to confront the creepy man outside her home. As soon as he was confronted, Garcia said he began begging.
The begging didn’t work, as Garcia contacted the sheriff’s office and the man — a neighbor — was arrested on trespassing. His actions, however, are left with Garcia forever.
“He violated my privacy. I’m afraid, no matter how brave I look. Of course, I go through that fear,” Garcia said. “Now I’ll never, if I look at my window, if I hear a noise. What’s going to happen? I mean, he scarred me.”
