Following an investigation into claims of sexual harassment, Andrew Cuomo announced his resignation as the governor of New York, effective in two weeks.

It’s a sharp turn from the nationwide perspective of Cuomo during the early days of the pandemic. He was initially praised for how he helped stop the rapid spread of the virus in his state, although that turned to criticism after his administration was accused of covering up the number of nursing home deaths during the pandemic after forcing them to take in COVID patients.

And then came the wave of sexual harassment allegations — something Cuomo still denies.
New Yorkers haven’t seemed particularly surprised or shaken by any of the criticisms and accusations that have come down on Cuomo following his quick rise to the national spotlight.
