Conservative talking head Candace Owens has spent much of the pandemic denying that COVID-19 is a serious issue, refusing to wear a mask or get vaccinated, and implying that the entire virus is overblown. She’s even called herself a “scientific miracle” because her husband contracted the virus and she apparently spent all night breathing in his cough particles and didn’t get infected herself.

It’s unclear if Owens has been getting tested regularly over the last year and a half, but this week she did try to get a test in Aspen, Colorado. The Daily News reports that people have been wondering if Owens is sick because she pulled out of an event due to “sudden illness.”
Owens called this conjecture a conspiracy theory:
And the reason given for her pulling out of the event was that her time slot was moved and she couldn’t make it. So, maybe Owens isn’t sick, maybe she just needs a test in order to move around Aspen or go to certain events, but she wouldn’t be the first conservative to fall ill after denying the effects of COVID.
Owens posted that she was unable to procure a test and received a letter from someone at a testing facility refusing her service:
She eventually shared the letter all over her social media platforms, in which a woman named Suzanna told her that she can go to another testing center for a non-rapid test. But she won’t be able to come to her testing center, because spreading misinformation has been Owens’ reason to live the past 18 months:

Owens then went on Instagram Live and accused the facility of racism, which is a real departure from her usual opinions about racism in the U.S., like that it isn’t real:
Candace Owens may never be defeated because she changes her arguments and perspective at a whim. But if you’re in her presence, stay masked—it’s not looking good.
