In her TikTok, she gives users a brief rundown of what happened:
"So tomorrow I was supposed to fly out straight from a 28-hour shift to attend one of my best friend's wedding events that I spent thousands of dollars on and took my vacation time, which is very limited, to attend."
Before we move on, let’s talk about dedication. Did you see 28-hour shift in there? And Dr. Long was ready to hop on a plane — one of the worst places to be when you are exhausted — and fly to attend the wedding of one of her best friends.
Dr. Long continues:
"And when I texted her this morning to let her know that I was being tested and taking all these precautions before I flew in an attempt to make her feel comfortable, she totally freaked out when she found out that I take care of sick people."
If this is Dr. Long’s best friend, wouldn’t she already know about her career? How is a person not aware that their doctor friend takes care of sick people?
Since Dr. Long’s plane ticket was nonrefundable, she asked if anyone in Texas wanted to hang out. And people took her up on it!

Other people reassured her that the friend is not a very good one, and a big hypocrite for having a potential superspreader event (AKA a wedding during COVID) while judging a doctor who has stepped up since the COVID outbreak.

In a second video, Dr. Long gave an update. Everything worked out in the end, as she was able to get a travel credit and prevent a stressful situation at her job.

Without Dr. Long, the hospital would’ve faced multiple challenges. Thanks to the friend, Dr. Long was able to step in and assist, creating less stress for her team.
