Angela Bailey wrote the now-viral Facebook post on Tuesday, after she says both her kids and another student were sent to the office in the middle of the class “for wearing Carhartt hoodies, hi-vis construction hoodie, bootcut jeans (without rips), and romeo shoes.”

“The kids were told by staff at Bethel High School that their clothes were ‘too republican,’ ‘too country,’ ‘white supremacists’ and ‘racist,’” she claimed. “I fail to see a problem with these clothes.”

She also scorned other kids at the school, saying that they “wear spiked collars…and dress as ‘furries’ for attention or show too much skin.”

Bailey’s Facebook post was flooded with comments from angry friends and strangers, denouncing the liberal agenda and insisting she stage a protest or sue the school.

And it’s not difficult to see what people would be angry about hoodies and jeans and flannel being labeled as “too Republican” or “racist.” That would just be absurd, considering all types of people from all across the United States wear clothes like that all the time, regardless of political affiliation or race.

In fact, it sounds so absurd that people outside of those allowed to comment on Bailey’s Facebook post aren’t buying it.

People familiar with the area in Washington where the school is located also chimed in with their disbelief.

Some people in Bailey’s comments were saying that her children had actually gotten in trouble for starting a Trump rally in the parking lot at school, and reposted photos that were allegedly shared by one of the teens earlier that same day.

She has since limited comments on her initial post.
