Reality TV Karen Calls Mexican Women ‘Trash’ After She Tries To Help Her Daughter Fix Her Shirt

Alexa Carrero, who apparently started using TikTok at the behest of her six-year-old child (per her TikTok bio), recently posted a video of an altercation in the restroom of a Thousand Oaks bar called Bogies, and the clip has gone viral.

The video, posted under Ms. Carrero’s handle @lexacee333 on September 19, has been watched over 1.8 million times.

The video shows a woman berating her own adult daughter, as said daughter looks in the mirror, adjusting a tiara and attached veil.

“Why would you let her touch you?” the mother snaps contemptuously at the daughter. “She’s trash!”

“I’m not trash for helping your daughter,” Ms. Carrero responds evenly. The mother calls her trash again. Her tone and body language appear agitated. Her daughter looks passively into the mirror, fiddling with the veil and tiara, not responding at all.

A text overlay on the video explains, “Racist Karen calling me and my friends trash for helping her daughter because we’re Mexican. The mom was in my friends face prior to me recording saying, ‘I can end you. Don’t fuck with me.’”

Ms. Carrero had seen the young woman in the video struggling with her shirt, and asked her if she needed help. The young woman said yes, so Ms. Carrero and her friends went over to help her. The mother then entered the bathroom, saw the young women helping her daughter, and became enraged.

At this point, the mother ordered Ms. Carrero and her friends to leave the bathroom. They declined. The mother, at this point, according to Ms. Carrero’s narrative, then walked over, put her face directly in front of their faces, and began to scream at them.

TikTok users were largely horrified by the mother’s behavior. Many expressed consternation with the daughter for not correcting her mother’s bad behavior, as well.

The plot thickens, however: as it turns out, the daughter, Madison Wolf Kennedy, is an aspiring singer. The racist mother from the video, Tracy Hughes Wolf, is Madison’s manager.

Tracy’s Instagram and Twitter bios boast her appearances on Season 12 of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and Season 16 of Survivor. When viewers of Ms. Carrero’s video flooded their social media to demand accountability for their behavior, Madison and Tracy both responded by making their Twitter and Instagram accounts private.

Ms. Carrero has posted several follow-up videos to the original, explaining that her experience with Ms. Wolf and newlywed Mrs. Wolf-Kennedy worsened throughout the night, as their paths kept crossing. She explains that there were other incidents, and that Ms. Wolf uttered things that led several people to believe she is in fact racist.

Ultimately, however, Ms. Carrero and her friends were told that they would have to leave the club. Ms. Carrero says they were told this was due to Ms. Wolf and Ms. Wolf Kennedy’s complaints against them.

Ms. Carrero played the video for the club manager, to prove that they had not behaved aggressively towards Tracy or Madison. The manager acknowledged this, Ms. Carrero says, and Tracy admitted that she was the one who became aggressive in the restroom altercation.

Nevertheless, Bogie’s management walked Ms. Carrero and her friends all the way to valet, and watched them drive away from the club. Tracy and Madison and their party were allowed to remain, Ms. Carrero says.

However, Ms. Carrero explains, she did not record any of these other unpleasant interactions during the course of the evening. She didn’t expect that she would need to keep “receipts” to prove her experience of racism to the white people who eventually refused to believe her. (Because surely Thousand Oaks could never be a place where racism thrives.)

Ms. Carrero ends by discussing the psychological damage that racism causes victims. She says she doesn’t want to let herself be made “cold” by her experiences of racism, but she also feels the need to become more guarded to protect herself, as well.
