A guy named Bobby Misner agreed to appear in an AMA for an account called Jubilee, but he probably wasn’t expecting to blow up quite like this. AMA stands for “ask me anything” and Misner was selling himself as the “son of a billionaire.” His dad is Tom Misner who founded the SAE Institute music school and is apparently very rich. Money does not buy good internet judgement, unfortunately. Just ask Elon Musk.

In the AMA, the interviewer talks to Bobby about tipping culture in the U.S. He maybe has a slight accent? But also posts a lot of photos of the American flag on Instagram.

So, maybe he’s making a more general statement about why tipping culture is bad (which it is), and that other countries don’t do it and pay people a living wage. But refusing to tip anyone is not actually a solution to this issue.
In a clip of the interview posted to TikTok, Bobby complains about American culture, however, and how tipping is treated as extremely important after the interviewer from Jubilee asks, “How do you tip?”
“I think here there’s very much so this big tipping culture, and a lot of the time I’m like—bruh, like Uber Eats, I’m not tipping. I’m sorry,” Bobby says. He adds that because he already pays taxes and delivery fees and because the drivers are theoretically paid by the company, he doesn’t think he should have to leave a tip. Period.
“It’s like, bruh, I’m not made of money,” he explains. “I’m not just like giving it out.”
Sounds like a rich person to me.
Instead of slapping him, the interviewer carefully talks him through the idea that the drivers barely make any money from Uber Eats, and even says that she once worked for Postmates and it was horrible.
“I would suggest you can try doing an Uber Eats just to see what it feels like,” she says.
He kind of sits there looking thoughtful, but something tells me that he doesn’t really get it. Maybe because he is made of money, like an expensive scarecrow.
