Trump Praises Texas Supporters For Harassing Biden Campaign Bus

Texas has become a highly coveted state during the current election, still leaning towards sending its electoral votes to President Trump, but with a real chance of swinging blue for Joe Biden this year.

As such, Democrat volunteers have poured a lot of energy into campaigning in the state, including a plan to drive a big old bus across part of the state intended to encourage voters to throw their support behind the Biden-Harris ticket before early voting ended on Friday.

But during the trek, vehicles with pro-Trump banners surrounded the bus on the interstate, creating a dangerous situation that ended an event in Pflugerville for the Biden campaign being canceled.

Dr. Eric Cervini, a volunteer helping with the bus, tweeted out his own account of the incident.

“These Trump supporters, many of whom were armed, surrounded the bus on the interstate and attempted to drive it off the road,” he wrote. “They outnumbered police 50-1 and they ended up hitting a staffer’s car.”

He also claimed that the police wouldn’t help, and shared video of the caravan.

Other videos show how closely Trump supporters were following the bus, and one even appears to show a black truck with a Trump flag tailing the bus particularly close trying to run a white vehicle, later reported to belong to a Biden staffer, out into another lane.

President Trump spoke of his supporters antagonizing the Texas bus during a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday. He also later tweeted out footage and wrote “I LOVE TEXAS!”

The Texas Republican Party went on the offensive regarding the whole thing, taking a page from Trump’s own playbook and claiming that it’s really the “leftists from Antifa and BLM” who have been creating violence.

“Three Trump supporters have been executed, one in Portland, one in Denver, and one in Milwaukee. A leftist mob attempted to storm the house of the McCloskeys, threatened to burn their house down, rape Mrs. McCloskey, and then kill them both,” Chairman Allen West claimed when asked about the bus.

“Where is the liberal corporate media’s concern about that real violence? Additionally, none of what your question implies is accurate. It is more fake news and propaganda.”

Trump supporters also parked a hearse next to the bus at one point, seemingly as a threat.

The series of incidents are reportedly being investigated by the FBI.
