A bizarre incident captured on video Sunday, involving a President Donald Trump supporter blowing on two women outside Trump’s Virginia golf club has resulted in his arrest for assault.

A Daily Mail account of the incident notes that 61-year-old Raymond Deskins was charged with misdemeanor assault, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Deskins had reportedly been waiting outside the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia for the chance to wave to Trump. It’s notable that Deskins was wearing an inflatable pool floatie in Trump’s image, flashing two inflatable thumbs up, with the campaign’s “Keep America Great” slogan emblazoned across the front. He was also wearing a “Make America Great Again” shirt and a Trump 2020 jacket.

In a video shared on Twitter by @activistkathy, the Trump support comes over to the women, they implore him to get away, and he responds, “I’m not in anybody’s face” even as he gets closer to them.

They then request he get away again, pointing out that he doesn’t have a mask on. He responds by taking in a large inhale of air, then forcibly blows at them. They assert, “That’s assault!” and he responds by yelling, “I breathed on you.”

The tweet also looks to identify Deskins in case “contact tracing becomes necessary” — seemingly an implication that Deskins has coronavirus and might have spread it to the two women. (She did not offer any evidence of this.)

WJLA-TV, which reached out to @activistkathy for permission to use the video, posted its own story online, noting that “an investigation was later performed on the scene since law enforcement said they did not see the incident and the video didn’t capture the whole thing.”

Their report added that the sheriff’s office informed the women they could file charges with the Loudoun County Magistrate and get a “citizen obtained warrant.”

According to a related tweet, the two women in question were at the golf club to protest Trump, reportedly “holding a haiku poem sign,” which he added is “not usually an instrument of destruction.” This was in response to another tweet, claiming Deskins alleged the women hit him with a sign.

Then, @activistkathy weighed in on Twitter with the observation that “haiku people are not usually violent,” contrasting them to “men with Trump sex toys strapped to their belly.”
