A viral video is resulting in head-scratching across the globe for displaying a registered nurse of 20 years saying that she doesn’t believe in wearing masks, but seconds later explaining exactly why people should do so. The woman in the video does not seem aware that she’s being interviewed by comedian Walter Masterson, who has gone viral in the past for his parodies of Trump supporters and the things they say.

Masterson did a whole series of videos on the MAGA rally in D.C. over the weekend while sporting a fake OAN mic, but this clip from on of his TikTok videos has Twitter reeling.

“Okay so I’m a registered nurse in the emergency room,” the woman says. “And I’m not wearing a mask.”
Masterson clarifies that she’s been a nurse for 20 years but doesn’t “believe in wearing a mask.” The woman confirms this but does not want to say what hospital she works in. Of course, since she’s not wearing a mask, it won’t be long before somebody figures it out.

The kicker comes when Masterson asks her if she wears a mask “at work” at the hospital, which she confirms because, obviously, she has to. Then she explains why she has to wear a mask at her job in a hospital emergency room.
“You want to because I’m directly with COVID patients, so I don’t want to get it and then give it to another patient,” she says.
“Yeah, you don’t want to get the virus and then give it to someone else,” Masterson echoes before the video cuts out.
It’s almost like you could extend that sentiment to the rest of the population.
Anti-maskers, who are very often Trump supporters, have made a habit of finding single examples of healthcare workers who “don’t believe in” wearing masks to protect others for various reasons. Meanwhile, they ignore the vast majority of these workers who have resorted to begging people to wear masks when they leave their homes, sometimes in tears.

As funny as the video is, it’s left some people in despair.
“This is the part that I just can’t deal with,” said commenter Victoria. “Medical personnel who know better, still doing the wrong thing, by choice. Top that off with the ones who aren’t wearing it properly around patients, & I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone.”
“Unfortunately, I’ve heard this too frequently. It’s the false assumption some can tell when someone is sick,” another registered nurse on Twitter explained. “I know. I remember when MDs walked into isolation rooms without precautions. Like outrunning a bullet.”
It may or may not be of any comfort to know that there is a second video with this anti-mask nurse on Masterson’s TikTok in which he gets her to says that the “J” in Donald J. Trump stands for “genius.”
