Conservatives on the right-wing Twitter alternative known as Parler are having a collective meltdown over the news that the retiring Attorney General William Barr is not going to take further steps to investigate Hunter Biden or the 2020 election results. He said during a Monday morning press conference that there was “no reason” to appoint a special counsel to look into the Biden son when there’s already an investigation underway.

“To the extent that there’s an investigation, I think it’s being handled responsibly and professionally currently within the [Justice] Department,” he told reporters, “To this point, I see no reason to appoint a special counsel and I have no plan to do so before I leave.”

Barr recently decided to step down as attorney general and will be leaving his post on December 23. It’s a good thing, too, because right-wingers are furious at him now if Parler users are any measure of their overall sentiments.

After years of supporting and praising him, many conservatives are now calling Barr a “deep state operative” and accusing him of treason, among other things.

Barr also dismissed the idea of using a special counsel to seize voting machines in the swing states that went to Joe Biden—an idea that has been pushed by a man that Trump himself suggested as the one who could be such a counsel.

“If I thought a special counsel at this stage was the right tool and was appropriate, I would name one, but I haven’t and I’m not going to,” said Barr.

He’s right—the federal government, in fact, would have little to no authority to seize voting machines owned by states, according to legal experts. Regardless of these or any facts, Parler is currently spiraling out.
