The coronavirus vaccine has begun to be distributed and the way that’s happening has raised a lot of questions. While some frontline workers have received the vaccine first, as they should, there’s another group of people getting their vaccine before everyone else: Congress.

Some Congress members fall into an age group that would be prioritized. Even so, many are skeptical about how much of a priority the rich and powerful in government should be when so many deaths are happening outside of their bubble. A lot of that anger and confusion has started to pour out and much of it is being directed at GOP Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa.

On Sunday, Ernst posted a selfie of herself getting the vaccine:
She also encouraged other Iowans to get it and shouted out Operation Warp Speed for distributing the vaccine, even though they’ve reportedly made a dog’s dinner of the process:

People were extremely angry with Ernst, because as recently as September, she was using her platform to promote the QAnon conspiracy that doctors were faking COVID deaths for money. The New York Times reported at the time that Ernst repeated claims made by Trump that the CDC had fabricated numbers, even though the data was simply being incorrectly interpreted.
“They’re thinking there may be 10,000 or less deaths that were actually singularly Covid-19,” Ernst said. “I’m just really curious. It would be interesting to know that.”
Well, what everyone else wants to know is why is this COVID-denier getting the vaccine first?

Ernst might be first in line for a vaccine, but this debacle might make her first in line for being voted out of office at the next election.
