Another one of the Trump supporters sent to stage a failed coup at the Capitol has been arrested and charged, this time after not only posting evidence of his actions online but sending the link directly to someone he called “Nice FBI Lady.”

Kevin Lyons, 40, has now been charged with two misdemeanors related to unlawful entry and presence on the Capitol grounds.
According to court documents, Lyons recorded video of himself traveling to the Capitol on an 11-hour road trip and saying some rather incriminating things.

“I refuse to tell my children that I sat back and did nothing,” he said. “I’m heading to D.C. to stop the steal!”
He later posted a photo of himself outside of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office with the caption “WHOS HOUSE?!?!? OUR HOUSE!!!”
Two days later and back in Chicago, he bizarrely told FBI interviewers that he witnessed no property damage while at the Capitol, but had a “dream” that he saw “banging on doors, paper being thrown, and a mob.” Of course, thanks to extensive video evidence, we know all these things definitely happened.

This was apparently the best defense that Lyons could muster as the FBI dug up his Instagram post and went through his phone, where they found video footage he took of the insurrection.
He was rather compliant when they asked him for a copy of the video, promising to upload the large file to YouTube and send them a link. What he said when fulfilling that promise has got people doing double-takes.
“Hello Nice FBI Lady, Here are the links to the videos,” he wrote in the email. “Looks like Podium Guy is in one of them, less the podium. Let me know if you need anything else. Kevin Lyons.”
We’re also stuck on this detail from the Chicago Sun-Times that says he “tried to wear a Kevlar vest but was unable to fit it over his sweatshirt.” Seems like Kevlar vests can also go under your sweatshirt but maybe we’re expecting too much here.

Perhaps Lyons gained some leniency for his cooperation with the nice FBI lady, but he could still face jail time for his participation in the coup attempt.
