One of the most outspoken new members of Congress, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), went on Newsmax for an interview Wednesday to announce that she’d be introducing articles of impeachment against President-Elect Joe Biden before he’s had the chance to fully settle in as the nation’s 46th President.

As the Daily Dot reported, the QAnon-supporting Congresswoman promised to bring them to the House floor on Jan. 21, the day after the inauguration.

Atlanta TV reporter Chenue Her, sharing the clip from his Twitter account, noted, “Georgia politics these last few months have been… interesting.”
MTG seems poised to make a name (and AOC-like initials) from the move, announcing the move from her own @mtgreenee Twitter account (yep, with the extra E on the end). There, she declared, “75 million Americans are fed up with inaction,” seemingly referring to the slightly more than 74.2 million voters who cast their votes for Donald Trump in the 2020 election—compared to slightly more than 81.2 million who chose Biden.

“It’s time to take a stand,” she asserted. “I’m proud to be the voice of Republican voters who have been ignored.”
That got some immediately looking to respond, such as actor and anti-Trump activist Michael Rapaport, who said, “You’ll lose your case like you lost GEORGIA.”

(Though MTG won her district after her Democratic opponent dropped out of the race for personal reasons, Biden carried the state and two Democratic candidates, Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, won Senate runoff elections in Georgia earlier this month to tip that body of Congress to Democratic control.)
She also took time Thursday to tweet, “IMPEACH #QuidProJoe!” (The Trump team tried to make that nickname stick to Biden during the election, but it didn’t quite catch fire.

Of course, many were quick to point out that impeaching Biden would allow for Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris—regarded as more to the left than Biden—to assume the presidency.
But it’s not likely to go anywhere in the House. As Victor Koran declared on Twitter, “Georgia Congresswoman announces she will waste her time.”
