As Capitol rioters continue to be identified by the FBI, thanks in part to tips from people who recognize them, one rioter wound up a little more embarrassed than most.

26-year-old Brian Gundersen has been charged for his part in the riots after people from his hometown of North Castle Township, New York, recognized the varsity jacket he was wearing in D.C., 8 years after his high school days were over.

Apparently, casually wearing his varsity jacket everywhere he goes is pretty common for Gundersen. The FBI received numerous tips about the former football player, including a number of photos of him wearing that same jacket as an adult — high school name and jersey number clearly visible.

Gundersen reportedly admitted to being in D.C. for the protest but initially claimed he was not part of the group that stormed the Capitol.

However, his story is slowly falling apart under pressure. According to ABC7, the former jock has since admitted that he was inside the Capitol, but was “pushed into the building by the crowd.”

A later search of Gundersen’s phone unearthed a text message he sent in which he wrote “We all stormed the us capital and tried to take over the government. We failed but f—k it.”

He also referred to members of Congress as “scared little b—ches” because they hid when a bunch of domestic terrorists broke past police into the building, some with the intent to harm them.

The FBI has identified plenty of rioters at this point, but what really makes Gundersen’s case special is, of course, the letterman jacket.

It’s not looking too great for Gundersen, who really didn’t think much through before both storming the Capitol in an incredibly recognizable jacket and subsequently lying to the FBI about it. Even if he somehow escapes charges and jail time for his role in the siege, he may want to consider finding a new wardrobe after this.
