Private citizen Donald Trump announced on Monday that he had opened up the “Office of the Former President” in Florida. In a statement, the former president indicated that he is not even close to done milking that whole presidency thing and will continue to be involved in politics whether we like it or not.

“The office will be responsible for managing President Trump’s correspondence, public statements, appearances and official activities to advance the interests of the United States and to carry on the agenda of the Trump administration through advocacy, organizing and public activism,” the statement reads. “President Trump will always and forever be a champion for the American people.”

Trump is likely not used to the lack of total attention after four years at the helm of the United States and particularly after he was banned from just about every social media platform anyone has ever heard of. Though he did not give specifics for what he would be doing after leaving the White House, he ended his farewell speech with “we will see you soon” and “we will be back in some form.”

This form was largely assumed to not refer to his return to D.C. on February 8, when the Senate trial over his second impeachment will begin. Trump is charged with inciting the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6.

The announcement about this new office was received by a number of journalists but did not appear to come with any additional details outside of the image posted to Twitter. Trump has indicated multiple times that he may run for president again in 2024, and has also talked about creating a media company to rival his former sweethearts at Fox News or even starting a new “MAGA” political party.

Meanwhile, Trump’s critics also seem to be missing the ability to tell him how they feel about him online and have therefore sought alternative means to do so.

Others, however, would prefer to forget about him altogether and are therefore not appreciating the news about this “office.”
