Chris Pratt has already gathered some prior internet side-eye, including questions about his church affiliation that resurfaced last December. Now, there’s evidence that Chris Pratt’s brother has ties to a far-right militant group, and that’s not sitting well either.

Daniel “Cully” Pratt, the actor’s older brother, is one of several members of California’s Solano County Sheriff’s Office who have expressed support for the Three Percenters, a far-right group of anti-government extremists.

Open Vallejo‘s article, published last Thursday, shows the elder Pratt in an Instagram post showing off a rifle display similar to the one he created for Sgt. Roy Stockton, a Sheriff’s Office colleague and recently-elected member of the Vacaville City Council.

(Pratt, the article noted, has a side business making wood carvings, including characters from movies his famous brother has appeared in.)
The article’s author, Scott Morris, shared the Instagram post in question — in which Cully Pratt identified as a #3percenter, with the organization’s logo clearly visible (and ringed in shotgun shells) in the upper left corner of his creation.
As the Daily Dot explained, “Three Percenters believe they serve to protect the American people against a tyrannical government. The name “Three Percenters” comes from the false claim that only 3% of Americans fought against the British in the Revolutionary War.”

The Dot article also noted that “one of the people charged with conspiring to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-Mich.) sported a Three Percenters symbol, and several people in connection to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot were also tied to the group.”
There’s concern about the Three Percenters and groups like them given the current political climate. Open Vallejo‘s article noted, “Since the attack on the Capitol, long-simmering concerns about right-wing violence have grown more pronounced, both locally and nationwide.”
“The Department of Homeland Security warned last Wednesday of a heightened threat from anti-government extremists following President Joe Biden’s inauguration.”
They also noted that signs of that activity aren’t far from where Pratt appears to be immortalizing the group’s logo in wood. “Last week, federal prosecutors charged American Canyon resident Ian Rogers with possessing five pipe bombs following his arrest in nearby Napa on Jan. 15.,” that article noted. “Investigators seized 49 guns and noted that Rogers had a Three Percenter emblem on his vehicle, court records show.”

This will likely not help Chris Pratt’s internet-amplified reputation as the “worst Chris in Hollywood,” which he jokingly acknowledged in December after it became on an online thing in October.
