In Mexico City’s Central de Abasto market, a group of masked Lucha libre wrestlers has been accosting patrons and sellers who are not wearing their masks and taking matters into their own hands. Reuters reports that in Mexico, COVID-19 deaths are close to 200,000, which is the third-highest in the world.

Mask-wearing isn’t the flashpoint it’s been in the U.S., but it’s apparently been a challenge to enforce in the marketplace, which is open so people can access food.

“The campaign is so people know they can’t stop fighting (against the virus), that they need to keep wearing masks and using gel,” he said. “This fight isn’t over, we’ve got to give it more.”
The wrestlers aren’t doing it on their own, they’re actually working with the Mexican government and circulating through different marketplaces to do the same thing there, since they clearly take masks very seriously. They have masks UNDER their masks.
