Ben Shapiro’s taking on a new cause—promoting Home Depot.

A bizarre video of the far-right commentator holding up a piece of wood inexplicably placed in a tiny plastic shopping bag and telling everyone how “magnificent” it is has gone viral after Shapiro posted it to his Instagram stories.

His shopping excursion is apparently linked to the fact that Home Depot is among the large corporations that are not taking a stance against Georgia’s new voter suppression laws.

In a previous video, Shapiro seems to suggest corporations should stay out of politics and tells viewers that they “should be buying from companies that are not falling to the ‘woke left.’”

Going back a little bit further, Shapiro previously took issue with an article about Georgia’s religious leaders calling for a boycott of Home Depot for refusing to have a public position on the civil rights issues going on in the state.

“Fine, only shopping at Home Depot from now on,” he wrote.

But this video of Shapiro shilling for the big box store with a single piece of wood is just next-level absurdity, even for the guy is best known for failing to understand vaginas aren’t supposed to be dry during sex.

While Shapiro looks like an absolute clown to people with any sense right about now, there’s a good chance his supporters will feel inspired by his little grift and follow suit. Because as Raw Story’s Matthew Chapman aptly points out, this is actually a pretty good summary of the modern conservative movement.
