Rapper and not-infrequent critic of Republicans Cardi B had some strong words on Wednesday for the eerily silent corner of high-profile members of the Twitter GOP over both the killing of Daunte Wright and the brutalizing of Army lieutenant Caron Nazario by police.

The musician posted a video along with text calling out these “blue check” figures who seem to find time to complain about every other problem in the U.S.—except the problem of police brutality.

“Ya been real quiet,” she wrote. “Twitter Blue check Republicans are a f—in joke. I don’t ever want to see yaa ranting on celebrities, athletes until yall address what’s REALLY WRONG IN AMERICA!”
Cardi B continued this sentiment in her video, noting that these Republicans have been silent time and time again as the rest of the nation discusses the clear problem it has with its policing system, including when Nazario was “treated like a f—in’ dog” after he was pulled over because the cops missed the temporary license plates in his window.

She also seemed suspicious of the “excuse” that former cop Kim Potter mistook her gun for a taser before killing Daunte Wright.
“My thing is: Where the f— are you Twitter blue-check Republicans at?” she asked. “Y’all are the loudest in this motherf—in’ app. Y’all not saying nothing, y’all not complaining. Y’all blame everything with what’s wrong with America besides the police! Y’all have been very silent! What’s going on?”
Indeed, the only mention of the issue of police brutality on Senator Ted Cruz’s Twitter account for the past week has been railing against the idea of police abolition without once mentioning Wright or Nazario.
Senator Mitch McConnell has not mentioned the issue at all, as he’s apparently too busy defending Georgia voter suppression’s law and attacking Biden’s infrastructure bill.
Kim Potter, as well as the local police chief Tim Gannon, resigned from their posts on Tuesday, and Potter has since been charged with second-degree manslaughter.

Meanwhile, Lt. Nazario is suing the two police officers who pointed guns at him while screaming at him to exit his car, pepper-sprayed him, threatened to taser him, and shoved him to the ground.
While you won’t learn about any of this from high-profile Republicans, Snoop Dog posted an image on Instagram succinctly highlighting the point that Cardi B was trying to make.
