“Bible Study Group” Used To Plan Capitol Attacks And Collect Weapons, Feds Say

The FBI has infiltrated a “Bible study” group in Virginia that actually was more like a bomb study group. After the January 6th riot at the United States Capitol, the group reportedly discussed wishing to secede from the U.S., and one member planned to build and test Molotov cocktails.

Virginia man Fi Duong, who also goes by “Monkey King” and “Jim,” interacted with undercover law enforcement officers many times on January 6th and afterwards. When Duong first spoke with undercover officers, he was dressed in black in an alleged effort to disguise himself as Antifa. Investigators also say that Duong videotaped himself inside the Capitol and was also seen on the building’s cameras.

FBI gained access into Duong’s “Bible study group” and observed as he pursued bomb-building. These interactions are noted in a 14-page statement from the FBI as they prepare a case against Duong, who was arrested last week.

Duong was charged with four federal crimes, including entering the restricted grounds of the Capitol and obstruction of an official proceeding related to his alleged participation in the attacks on January 6.

According to court records, the FBI agent attended the “Bible study” meeting in Alexandria, Virginia. The group discussed the Bible, secession, weapons, combat training, and communication. One person in the group talked about creating “a semi-autonomous region” for Virginia: “I like the Constitution; I don’t like the Democratic sh*t this region keeps voting for.” Investigators also say that Duong had also stockpiled weapons at his home in Alexandria.
