Criminal Genius Who Signed His Name On Camera During Insurrection Gets Arrested

One of the most fascinating things about the January 6 insurrection was just how brazen and unapologetic the Trump supporters storming the Capitol were about the whole thing. They posed for pictures, shared videos on social media, and in at least one case, literally signed their name at the scene of the crime.

Gabriel Brown made it far too easy to discover his identity when he did just that, in addition to confirming his name on camera immediately after writing it down. Other footage from the riots showed him calling for a “violent resolution” and participating in the destruction of press equipment, ultimately leading to his arrest on Wednesday.

Brown has been charged destruction of property, disorderly and disruptive conduct, and violence on Capitol grounds.

An article by Tess Owen of VICE News published back in February identified Brown as a Proud Boy supporter who has been “a fixture at fascist events on the East Coast,” and who regularly livestreamed those events to his YouTube channel, as he did on January 6.

“You know what, the media did not want to do its job so now they f—king can’t,” he said as he and others smashed the equipment.

Another video showed Brown riling up a crowd with claims that the Senate and the House had been “stolen.”

“And now you think you’re doing to steal the presidency from us?” he asked. “Let me tell you something — you want to take peaceful revolution away from us? Well you better prepare for a f—king violent revolution.”

He also gave an interview at some point following the riot.

Brown is one of several rioters who engaged in the destruction of media equipment outside of the Capitol who has been arrested this week. Others include Chase Allen, who claimed to merely be a “documentarian” of events, and Zvonimir Jurlina, who has already begged former President Trump to pay his legal fees.
