Members of the military left a Missouri bar outraged after watching a man believed at the time to be a bartender destroy a military ID and disrespect the woman it belonged to, insisting he knew it was fake.

The video posted by Noel Cook to Facebook begins with what he calls a “drunk bartender” already in the process of arguing with the customers over the ID.

“Let me call my boys that have been to f—king Afghanistan,” the guy yells at the woman whose ID he called into question. He crumples the ID in his hand and drops it on the floor behind the bar.
One of the military guys suggests they all show up tomorrow with their uniforms on, to which the man behind the bar says he’ll still kick them out of the bar because he could go buy a uniform anywhere.
“What have you done for this country since World War II?” he asks.

According to Cook, the actual bartender called the cops for them amidst all the arguing, and the ID was validated when the police showed up to take a look.
The incident went down at LOTO Lounge in Missouri, and the “drunk bartender” was identified by the bar’s Facebook page as Josh Weitkamp, a “local musician who has personal ties to the venue.” They have said he is not a bartender and it’s unclear why he was behind the bar, taking IDs, and threatening to kick people out of the bar.
“He is extremely remorseful for his actions and we are working to make amends with the military members involved,” the Lounge’s post read.
Their entire Facebook page has since been deleted, likely due to upset folks leaving angry reviews about what happened.

Weitkamp himself acknowledged that he “said some regretful, hateful things in regards to [the soldiers’] service to the country and I’m sickened by my own comments.”

He also called the encounter a “stupid drunken mistake.”
