Lil Nas X is carrying a lot of responsibility for such a young guy. Not only is he cranking out the hits, he’s making sure to embrace his identity and sexuality in an industry that has been historically hostile to both. And he still finds time to bat down trolls on Twitter who can’t stop tweeting homophobic crap at him.

His last video for “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” shows Lil Nas X twerking for the devil and it’s pretty gay. His newest single “Industry Baby” is perhaps even gayer, featuring a bunch of men in pink uniforms working out, dancing nude, and generally grooving…in a prison.

There are a lot of classic horrible homophobes on social media, who have called Lil Nas X everything from demonic to accusing him of having a “gay agenda” or trying to emasculate Black men. Just horrible stuff. and he meets it all with aplomb:
