Republicans Melt Down Over Montana Man Confronting Tucker Carlson, Call For His Arrest

Following the emergence of the individual dubbed “Montana Man” after video was posted Friday of the guy accosting Tucker Carlson at a sporting goods store to tell him how awful a human being he is, fellow Republicans are clearly fearing that they might be next. Carlson’s recent family vacation in or near Livingston, Montana was interrupted when a local man recognized him and took the opportunity to call him “the worst human being known to mankind,” as any fan of humanity would be tempted to do.

The video of this encounter went viral after being posted to Instagram as people everywhere lived vicariously through Montana Man’s act of taking his shot.

Conservatives like Tucker have always hated videos like these in which people like them get confronted in public settings such as restaurants and airports because it reminds them that there are consequences to their actions that can reach them no matter how much money they spend trying to avoid the general public. Sometimes those consequences are that you don’t get to live a normal life and go to normal shops because someone there will remind you that you’re actively making the world a worse place to live in.

It’s no surprise that the political right is resoundingly condemning Montana Man, with far-right pundit and conspiracy theorist Dinesh D’Souza calling for his actual arrest. Others claimed that if a liberal figure was accosted in the same way, Montana Man would have been called a racist, which would make little sense if said figure was as white as Tucker.

Meghan McCain also chimed in to say that the actions of Montana Man was unlikely to change Tucker’s mind on anything, as though that were the point and not simply the opportunity to make a political mouthpiece shut up and listen for a change.

Typically, when those on the left are accosted by right-wingers, it’s some Proud Boys or other extremist thugs literally attacking people in the streets for protesting for racial justice or against fascism. But all sympathies to Tucker Carlson’s daughter for having her boring Montana vacation made slightly more awkward and also for having her dad be Tucker Carlson.

Which ones are supposed to be the fragile snowflakes again?
