TikToker Reveals The 5-Star Airbnb She Booked Was A Hoarder’s Home

Airbnb was created to be an alternative to hotels. Instead of paying hundreds of dollars a night for a hotel room, Airbnb exists as an alternative with more options with housing and pricing.

One TikTok user is regretting booking this Airbnb for a 10-week stay in Pennsylvania. The listing was a private room — as opposed to renting out an entire home — and offers a nightly discount when a guest books a long visit.

Reecently, TikTok user @phoenruber uploaded their experience in what they thought was a five-star listing.

It wasn’t.

In the next scene, she shows an image of what the listing looks like online.

Here is another area of the house.

Seems kind of lovely, right?

Well, pictures did not do this Airbnb location justice. Because what they left out was the absolute mess throughout the house.

With broken amenities that were probably not disclosed in the Airbnb listing.

And, because she is in a shared home, she had to be in constant communications with the owners just to get inside.

And they didn’t give her a key so she could come and go as she pleases.

Now imagine spending 10 weeks in this place.

This TikTok user definitely did not want to spend more than two months there, so they booked themselves a hotel for the rest of the stay and reached out to Airbnb.

For days, she said Airbnb gave her the runaround, even after being told by a customer that they felt unsafe in one of their rooms. Airbnb is offering a refund, but only 80 percent of the total cost of the stay. Oof.

“Right before heading into work, I got a call from Airbnb that they will honor the 80% off so I will owe $300~ for time I stayed there,” she said in the video. “I still believe I should owe $0 for that mess but it’s a start.”
