“We are just as upset, frustrated, and heartbroken as everyone else,” Cassie Laundrie told people gathered in front of her house recently. “And I am losing my parents, and my brother, and my children’s aunt, and my future sister-in-law on top of this.”
Cassie says she’s “getting ignored” by her parents and feels as if she was thrown under the bus by her family’s attorney, Steve Bertolino, when he stated publicly that she had seen Brian upon his return to Florida on both September 1 and September 6.

Previously, Cassie had lamented that she hadn’t “been able to talk to” her brother and wished that she could, something many interpreted to mean she hadn’t been in contact with him following Petito’s disappearance.
But she clarified for protestors that what she actually meant was that she hadn’t seen him since she found out Petito was missing, which she said didn’t happen until September 11.
“I did not say that I saw my brother, I said I had not been able to him in reference to the time when I was called by the police,” she said. “Since that point, I have not been able to speak to my brother.”
Cassie also sat down for an interview with Good Morning America, during which she urged her brother to come home and turn himself in.
“I worry about him. I hope he’s okay, and then I am angry and don’t know what to think,” she said. “I would tell my brother to just come forward and get us out of this horrible mess.” She also added that if she knew where Brian was, she would turn him in.
Authorities are currently looking for Brian, who was last seen on September 14, in connection with a federal arrest warrant for using someone else’s debit card.
