A TikTok video of a man who is utterly enraged over the California COVID-19 vaccine mandate for kids attending K-12 public schools in California is going viral as people wonder how he managed to have kids in the public school system without knowing that they’ve had vaccine mandates since the early 1900s. The video, made by a father who calls himself “Damon” on TikTok, quickly spread to Twitter after taking off on the video-based platform to the point that his account is now set to private.

Before you watch, if you’re in the office or anywhere else where you wouldn’t want people to hear a man screaming profanities at the top of his lungs, use your headphones.

“This article says that for the kids to go back to school they have to be f—ing vaccinated,” says Damon. “Are you f—ing kidding me?!”
“Where the f—k do you have the right to tell us what to do with our kids, Gavin Newsom?!”
For information on that, Damon might contact a government agency like Child Protective Services or perhaps consider the fact that the government also requires that all children be educated either in a public or private school, or, if homeschooled, follow a specific curriculum and pass state-mandated tests. In relation to vaccines, he can look at the 1905 Supreme Court case Jacobson v. Massachusetts in which the court ruled that mandatory smallpox vaccines were constitutional due to the significant threat of the virus to public health.
Fast forward to 2021, and all 50 states require at least three vaccines before a child is allowed to enter Kindergarten in a public school: The DTaP for diphtheria, tetanus, & pertussis, the polio vaccine, and the chickenpox vaccine or proof of immunity from chickenpox. Additionally, 49 states and Washington D.C. require the MMR vaccine against measles, mumps, and rubella.
Perhaps if Damon had looked into these facts, he might not be in a viral video screaming the f-word while thrashing around in his car like a five-year-old scared to get his polio shot.
“If you’re f—ing liberal and you’re a friend of mine, get off my page,” he concludes. “I will not unfriend you.”

It’s hard to imagine that this order was necessary by the time the video was over.
California Governor Gavin Newsom announced the state mandate on Friday, but it will not go into effect until the FDA announces full approval of the COVID vaccine for children ages 12 to 15. This could be as early as January 1 of 2022 or as late as the following July. Following that, California will work toward another vaccine mandate for children under 12.
We’re all looking forward to a sequel to Damon’s screaming video when that happens.
