Actor and writer Larry David, known for his work on comedy shows such as Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, reportedly chewed out former friend and current lawyer Alan Dershowitz for working with Donald Trump and his associates after they ran into each other at a grocery store. Someone described as a “Page Six spy” witnessed the exchange, and it was confirmed by Dershowitz, who claimed that David screamed at him and seems to have been left rather upset by the whole thing.

“Larry is a knee-jerk radical,” Dershowitz said when contacted by Page Six. “He takes his politics from Hollywood. He doesn’t read a lot. He doesn’t think a lot.”

David did not respond to requests for comment, but it seems likely that he would say something similar about Dershowitz if given the chance based on the grocery store exchange.
According to Dershowitz and the witness, the two ran into each other at the Chilmark General Store near Martha’s Vineyard, where former President Barack Obama recently held his birthday party. David reportedly walked away from Dershowitz, and the Page Six spy overheard the lawyer attempting to salvage the friendship.
“We can still talk, Larry,” said Dershowitz.
“No. No. We really can’t,” said David. “I saw you. I saw you with your arm around [former Trump Secretary of State Mike] Pompeo! It’s disgusting!”
“He’s my former student [at Harvard Law],” Dershowitz responded. “I greet all of my former students that way. I can’t greet my former students?”
“It’s disgusting,” said David. “Your whole enclave — it’s disgusting. You’re disgusting!”
Perhaps the weirdest detail about this encounter was the lawyer’s reaction when David then walked away from him. According to the Page Six source, he took off his t-shirt “to reveal another T-shirt [underneath it] that says, ‘It’s The Constitution Stupid!’”

Dershowitz later claimed that the reason he felt comfortable getting so friendly with Trump’s former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is because he admired the man’s work allegedly promoting peace in the Middle East. This falls a little flat in light of the recent fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban.
“While he was writing bad jokes, I was helping to bring about peace in the Middle East,” Dershowitz said. “What has he done?”
The lawyer further claimed to be a “liberal Democrat” who voted for Biden but lost a number of friends during the Trump presidency for working with him and for defending the Florida man on the subject of his first impeachment.
Dershowitz said a lot of things, but what’s more interesting is the widespread reactions to this incident and the many jokes people are now making about it. Many actual liberal Democrats were thrilled to hear that someone yelled at Dershowitz for what he did, and that the person to do it was Larry David.
