It’s not too shocking that a project started by Donald Trump is falling apart when he’s been out of office for less than a year—especially the border wall. The walls are a symbol of something very ugly in our culture, and they’re also literally very ugly. Now, they’re falling apart, too.

Wilderness steward Laiken Jordahl shared a photo taken by a wildlife photographer that appears to show a section of Trump’s wall being torn apart by flooding in the area, with doors hanging on hinges and piles of detritus gathering along the posts:

It’s not clear why Jordahl is sharing this now, because people have been warning about the dangers of flooding and giant steel walls for some time in pretty much every publication that has looked into the matter:
The photo has sparked discussion about the situation again, with some people suggesting the “broken” sections of the wall are actually floodgates built in to help prevent water damage, but it doesn’t seem to be working, really:

Yes, it’s an ecological disaster as well as an inhumane political stunt from a man who is now banned from Twitter. May the floods wash it away.
