There were so many people involved in The Slap: Chris Rock, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, but as the week (oh god it’s only been a week) has gone on, more people keep getting sucked into the situation. Every comment or opinion sets off another wave of discourse and shady tweets, and Tony Rock wants in.

If you never heard of the comedian, you can probably guess who he is related to from his last night. Chris Rock’s brother is mad as hell on his behalf, which makes sense. No one wants to see their sibling smacked and humiliated on live television unless they hate them. But Tony isn’t just mad at Will, he’s mad at Jada. And what exactly did she do except frown?

The Shade Room shared footage of Tony on stage during his set, during which he calls the actress a b-tch.
“If you think you gonna to walk up on this stage, this ain’t the motherf-cking Oscars!” he said. “And if you walk your ass up here, you ain’t nominated for sh-t but these motherf-cking hands! Oh, we going to pop the rest of the year, n—a. Every time you see me do a show, pop!”

He continued, “You wanna hit my motherf-cking brother cause your b-tch gave you side eye?”

As with everything else related to The Slap, lots of people have opinions about Tony’s rant and career and general attitude:
Jada Pinkett Smith didn’t do a damn thing yet Chris Rock’s brother, Tony, is out here calling her a whole Bitch…. I’m telling you it’s something wrong with these men. Their misplaced anger at Jada is very alarming especially since Chris Rock was rejected by Jada in the 90s.

There’s absolutely no reason for Chris Rock’s brother Tony to address Jada Pinkett Smith let alone call her a bitch. The problem was between 2 men because one of the men went out of his way, off the teleprompter script to make an insensitive joke about the other man’s wife….

Look, whatever position you have on what happened, you can review the tapes and see Jada in no way instigated this situation. Women definitely know that refusing to laugh at men’s jokes at their expense can lead to violence—but it’s usually against them, let’s be real. She could not have known her husband would react like that and I’m betting things are still pretty tense in the Smith household.
Will has since apologized and resigned from the Academy, who are holding a disciplinary hearing. You know what that means! We will never hear the end of this.
